Fog, Fog, Fog,
Hello, I sold my Lancer 25 and bought a Catalina 27. Any way My lancer had a 9.9 evinrude 1989 or 87. I liked the motor allot. When It was time to winterize it all I did was by a can of fogging oil run the motor in a barrel of fresh water for about ten minutes. Spray the fogging oil into the air intake for the carberator until she just about stalls. Do that 3 times and then disconect the fuel line and keep adding fogging oil to air intake until she runs out of fuel. Next spray all your electrical connections with a nice electrical silicone spray. Grease all fittings. Maybe change the lower unit gear oil. I ussually do that in the spring but its good to check the condition of the gear oil. If it has a milky color to it then you need to have the shaft seal replaced. Any way come spring pull the plugs spray some fogging oil in the cylinders and put plugs back in. Start motor using fresh gas and run in barrel until it stops smoking. Good Luck
