Sorry about your freeze.
Not all of Canada is cold. Here in the balmy coast of British Columbia we
are running a normal pleasant 10 C, my daffodils are one hand high, and the
Anna's hummingbird is visiting the feeder every day. The sailing club had
a race out the bay on Sunday.
(Granted we had a rough start to January with 50 cm heavy snow, broken
trees, three days without power, then rain and floods.)
