Winter Storage & Mast Tuning

Recently purchased 2000 Hunter 310. Have no experience in winter storage. Looking for any advice on properly winterizing my boat.

Also looking to take down the mast for inspection by my local boat yard. They seem a little vague on how to retune the rig. Any advice?

Don't let them tune it. Most yards never do tune the rig. They just put the mast back up again. I would suggest you learn how to tune your rig 'cause it takes nothing more than a bit of patience. Most yards either don't know how or don't spend the time needed to do it right. It's not brain surgery, the steps to follow are simple and easy.

Be there when they pull the mast! You want to ensure they don't bring it to rest flat on the deck without at least a life jacket or other bufferunder the mast. 2nd, there are wires at the base of mast that need to be disconnected and inspected and not simply yanked or cut! out of convenience.
