In search of my next boat Palm Harbor, FL
So I went sailing this weekend. Yes I did sail in that. 7.1 knts max speed not bad for a boat rated for 5.6 knots. I don't care if it came from surfing down 4 ft seas. Good times.

One of the reasons we moved from Rhode Island is to be able to sail close to 12 months/year. The ironic part is we have ended up sailing less here in Fl although it has been more enjoyable since we don't feel pressed to cram in a year's worth of sailing into a few short months.

I'm glad to see you out sailing at this time of year. We had our boat in Florida (Englewood) for a number of years, and I do miss the winter sailing, even if we had to dodge those cold fronts.

I always say our sailing season starts in October and runs through March. This is when the oppressive heat is past us and the wind returns after the doldrums of summer. No need to mention that the first cold front in October usually ends the Hurricane season. As an added benefit the powerboat traffic is usually down. We do take the boat out in the summer but it is usually to go somewhere but we do most of our day and weekend sailing in the winter.

Much the same sailing season in New Orleans though I'd add April and May.

Kind regards
