Well, having finished my first year with the 23, I can say that I'm happy. It's fleet of foot and roomy down below. That said, I need some help on several items that need repair. I'll post each question separtately. I've already repaired the tiller which had started to delaminate at the aft end. First, one of the stantions is loose and the gel coat is in poor shape in that area. I've checked the archives but couldn't find how the stantions are bedded. Are they screwed into wood, fiberglass or backing plates? Thanks in advance for your help. Jerry S/V Shapieron

Stanchion attachment

Someone will chime in with the name of the best beding material. It's not silicone or GE 5200 but I forget the chemical name. The life line stanchions are treaded into a plate that enbedded in the deck.
