We just purchased a used 29.5 and wonder what you folks do in the winter on the hard to limit smell over winter. Charcoal? Baking Soda? Cat Litter? Thanks for your time!
I have an H240 that I keep in a slip during the season, but on the trailer in the winter. I place about 6 dryer sheets in the cabin. I place them in my bilge which is usually dry. The smell is very strong at first, but by the time to put it back in the water it is gone and I don't have that mildew smell.
I remove the transducer and the speedo sending units in the hull. This adds to good air circulation if you have dorades or some other vents in the top of the boat. You might want to cover the openings with a screen.
