I have an H31 1984 and would like to make a winter cover. I am getting tired of shrink wraping it (I do it myself). The question is does anyone know where I can get a pattern? I want a mast up version.
Thanks
Keith

That's the easy part. All you have to do is start taking some measurements from side rail to side rail over the boom at increments of 60". You will also need measurments of the distance from the mast to the stern and from the mast to the bow. After a few sheets of paper and perhaps a few sketches your ready to sew it together. I would suggest a material such as Top Gun. I designed and made one last year for my 35.5..

Happy Sewing

That is pretty much whatI have figured out. It is just the shrouds that I am concerned about getting right I store mast up. But I will figure it out once I get started.
Thanks

Yes the shrouds will fall in place once you start. One of the features that I designed in was to install zippers to join the segments. Each zipper has a flap to keep the elements out. You will find if you use the zipper method it will make installing and removing the cover so much easier. My goes from 6" down over the side rails and directly from the rail to the boom to the other rail and not over the lifelines. I then secure the sections by running lines from one side to the other under the hull attached to reinforced sections of the material where I have installed grommets.

Thank you. I was thinking about going over the life lines like I do with the shrink wrap but I think the snow may build up on the material more so than the slippery shrink wrap. Thanks fo rthe picture. I see you have a bimini also perhaps if you have some pictures of that and the frame attachment you could share them also I am thinking about building a bimini too.
Thanks

The frame assy is not mounted on the deck but is mounted on the rail. We have found that having the frame mounted on the deck makes it harder to board from the side. Also, due to the long boom on a 35.5 and the required height that was necessary to stand behind the wheel ours is shorter then most since it terminates at the end of the boom. It does extend behind the rear rail so it will provide sun protection on those hot sailing days. We do have an extended bridge that zips in to give the cockpit the cover when needed. The access zippers for the back stays zip to the sides of the bimini thus providing for a one piece zippers for both the back frame attachment and either the sun curtian or the rain canvas that extends from the rear of the bimini to and below the real rail.

Hope this hepls
