I recently purchased a 1983 H31. When I am looking at the left side of the chart table, I see a wine rack with two bins. I am failry certain the rear bin because of its depth is for wine bottle storage, but what about the shallow front bin. Is this for wine glasses? I also need to know if someone can answer or maybe even provide a photo of the type or style of light in the head of the 1983 H31. My light is missing with only the connections terminating into the head twisted off with electrical connectors. Thanks, Greg W

My '83 H34 probably has the same lights as your H31. I've replaced all of the plastic twist-to-turn-on original ones (made in Germany--uses festoon bulbs) with new halogen bulb ones. You can get a white double bulb (high/low) one at a reasonable price that will look great in the head. And anyone who uses it at night will appreciate the ability to see what they're doing. 'Nuff said. My H34 has a good size liquor cabinet built into the aft end of the nav table, with deep and shallow compartments. Standard "fifths" fit in the deep ones and pints, WD-40, a portable strobe, spare air horn cartridges, etc. fit into the shallow ones.
