We noticed that the 3 leaking windows had the rubber gaskets splits on the bottom side of the window frame when we took it apart? Could that have been what caused leaking in heavy rains? All the other windows had the gap in the rubber on the up side of window frame, with no leaking. has any one else experienced this same problem? Thanks Dan

I have one leaker

Hi Dan, I have one window that leaks pretty badly. I took that rubber seal out to see if I could figure out where it was coming from. I don't think the interior splice has much to do with leaks because mine was appearing after water filled the gap between the window frame and the cut-out in the fiberglass. In desparation I filled the gap between the frame and cut-out with silicone and drilled a 1/8" hole in the low point of the frame to let water out. I had to do this because the previous owner sealed the window with 3M 5200 adhesive and that frame will never come out again. Good luck, Jeff

Window leaks

My Cat 27 has a leaking window with split seal on the bottom. I had assumed this was done by a previous owner who re-installed with the split at the bottom instead of the top. My leak is small and I have just lived with it, but my younger brother has an R/V and says the dealers sell a "putty tape" that is good for sealing window leaks in the R/V trade. His opinion is that it would work well on boats, but I have not tried it yet.
