Seems that I can not send a PM email as I have in the past on this site.


Could be that I'm using Windows 8.1 with my new computer.


Any comments?

Hi Paul,

Users have the ability to shut that option off, so that could be the problem.

When you say you were unable to send one, is the option unavailable or did you get an error message?

I used another computer to send the PM and it worked.


On the windows 8.1 computer, I tried 4 times, there was no error message, just a stall with nothing happening for over 30 seconds.

Does this PM option have any Java programing?

To my knowledge, only in the user interface, not in the code that actually sends the message.

Actually, I have had a lot of trouble this semester as I am using a Windows 7.1 desktop to upload files to Blackboard and half the time the students can't read them. Randomly changes permissions. :cussing:

Thanks for your quick replies.

To close this post message...........I now use the combination of Google Chrome and Google

on Windows 8.1 and this seems to have cured the problems I had on this site and other sites in

including my bank.


I was using the newest and updated, which was installed on this computer, MS Explorer and Google.
