Window Rubber Seal

Hello: I bought enough of the two piece rubber window sealing
material to do my Vega and Brian Hofler's, and still have enough left
for one more Vega. If any of you are interested, I'll sell it for
what I paid for it - 35 feet at 75 cents a foot including black
rubber lock strip (not chrome plastic like the original, but
better). So, that's $26.25 plus shipping from Portland, OR. I can
also get the installation tool here locally for $16 if you need it.

I wrote out some instructions on installation for Brian after I did
mine, and I'd send those along as well. The windows look much
better, don't leak at all, and the new rubber is made of EPDM like
autos so it will hold up in the sun. Not really too difficult to

Ken and others: The 35 feet that I have is spoken for, but I can get more of
the material here in Portland in 50 foot boxes. It only takes 30+ feet to do
a Vega, so 2 boxes split three ways will do 3 Vegas. I don't mind doing this
for people as long as I cover shipping and cost of material. I can't
guarantee anything as far as price for the long term, and I'm generally very busy so
can't promise overnight service. The material is made by StanPro, an
automotive supplier that is a subsidiary of Cooper Tire Co. Their webpage is
www.stanpro.com , look under self-sealing weatherstrip (2 piece). Section number
AS1456, part number 75000463. I can only get black rubber (rather than chrome
plastic) locking strip from my supplier here in Portland. It looks better that
way anyhow, in my opinion - what do you think Brian Hofler? You may be able
to source the material locally, but use 75 cents a foot (total both pieces)
for comparison. The installation tool is $16 and is a necessity.

I'll get a UPS estimate. Yes, I have instructions and pictures that I took to
show what I did.

Yes...I agree with Bill...the black strip looks nice and tidy, rather
ship or should I say...Vegashape...It really is an easy process and
can be completed in a day.Cheers

Brian would you please post the instructions from Bill and add your comments. I'll have to go on line and purchase enough product and tools to do at least one Vega and then peddle the leftovers to the group. I would like to see the instructions before I order the product.
