I need to locate replacement windows for the main cabin. The boat is a 1977 Hun. 30'. The cut out is 8"x36".

On two old (1968 and 1971) Cal boats, I replaced the sliding windows with fixed windows by removing the frames and cutting lexan (or some similar plastic) to fit. I reinstalled with liberal amounts of life caulk between both the frame and lexan, and the frame and boat. Worked fine, did not leak. You have to make sure that the sealant you use is compatible with the window material. Some sealants "out gass" and will not adhere to some plastics.

If you are going to all that trouble, look up www.nfm.com and check out their product line. I have the same boat and that replacement issue is going to confront me before too much longer and I'm thinking bronze portlights would be better than plastic ones.

The attached picture illustrates just one of many problems, the one where the portlights do not fill the hole. My H37C has ten NFMs, six are 7x15 and four are 5x12. The one in the cockpit for the q-berth still needs replaced. When the Cherubinis went with the larger portlights(like 36") I don't think they were the opening type. He has purchased the templates used to make the original ports. I found him very helpful. He gave me a lot of good advise on how to remove the old ports and install the new ones.
