Need some more info first.
Nick, In order to help, need to know what year and model of 36 you have (Mk I or Mk II). The newer 36s have a shelf in the anchor locker where they mount windlasses nowdays. I have an 86 model and there is no such shelf. I have heard of people making a shelf for a vertical mount and of others placing a horizontal mount on the deck behind the anchor locker.
