I own a 1988 30'Cat, tall rig with bowsprit and would like to install a windlass. Picking the anchor up by hand is very hard for me and I'm thinking of installing a windlass somewhere in my anchor locker. Some of the catalinas had the windlass install by Catalina located in the anchor locker. Could anyone suggest the proper location and windlass model that was installed? Maybe a diy diagrams/plans that I could use to install the windlass. Need to know where to cut into the locker wall.
