I am seeking information regarding the installation of a windlass on a 1992 33.5 Iam intersted in knowing the model types and how it was installed.

Retrofitting electric windlass
I installed a Horizon 600 electric windlass on my Vision 32 by making a stainless bow plate covering about half the anchor locker and fitting around existing stantions. A roller was welded to it and the windlass bolted on it. The Locker cover was cut and rebuilt to fit. Works very well. I can supply photos and details if you are interested.

Manual or electric?
I had a manual windlass installed on my 30T. It works fine. Easy to install and about one third the price of an electric windlass. Several people said that I'd be sorry if I didn't get an electric windlass (we have 50'of chain) but the manual windlass whips the anchor right up with no fuss. The main problem was that I had to replace the chain with a chain of different links (proof coil-->BBB). My manual windlass is a Simpson-Lawrence Anchorman. West Marine carries it.
