I HAVE A 36' 1988 CATATINA TALL RIG.I WANT TO PUT ON A ELECTRIC WINDLASSHAS ANYONE ANY SUGGESTION AS TO TYPE AND HOWTO INSTALL.

I did just that

There are several different ideas out there, but here's how I installed a SL900 electric windlass to my 1986 C36. First I added a Kingsprit bow roller (www.land2c.org) and mounted the windlass on the deck just aft of the anchor locker. The motor sits dry inside the V-berth and the chain falls into the aft end of the locker. I use an oversized Bruce 44lb. anchor and used it almost every night for 2 months this past summer. Works like a charm - one of the best additions I've made to the boat!I keep promising to post photos but I haven't gotten around to it yet - keep an eye out!Trevor
