Windlass worry

Hi, I have Leroy Somer SV801 windlass on my Oceanis Clipper 411. A recent attempt to pull it apart for some long overdue TLC left me wondering how to remove the gearbox/motor assembly from the cast aluminium windlass casing as the length of the drum shaft stops the removal. I can't get any info from Leroy Somer or Beneteau so does anyone out there know how to perform this task?
