After talking about it for a couple of years, I'm finally getting around to installing a windlass ;) The next question is the up/down switches. The windlass package (Lofrans) came with a pair of foot switches, but I'm wondering if these really are the best approach. Another option would be a hand-held remote, kept in the anchor locker, and/or cockpit switches. It seems to me that I would want to be on the bow during setting and retrieving the anchor, although I saw a large cruising boat come in and anchor and leave with nobody on the foredeck last weekend. (I am a bit leery of the foot switches because I once accidentally knelt on a switch while I had my hand under the chain - extremely painful and lucky I didn't do serious damage.) Suggestions? Derek

Foot Switches

The Foot Switches are mounted at the bow, for hands free operation. The optional Remote Switches are mounted at the helm. HTH Gord
