Windlass problem

Hi

Today, i had a windlass problem on my hunter 340 1999.

The windlass was working fine, then the 'down' switch stop. The 'up' switch was still operational.

Then few minutes after the 'up' switch stopped responding.

I verified the windlass circuit breaker and there was nothing abnormal.

Any hint?

If it's electrical 99% of the time it is the connections. Each and every one of them. Also check your solenoid.

Do you have an idea on how to reach the solenoid?

on my boat..

you remove a panel in the forward head which reveals the windlass motor and the solenoid.

Since both problems happened in short order of each other I'm thinking the cabling to the solenoid/windlassand not the switches controlling the solenoid are the rascals causing the problem. Check the solenoid high amp connections.
