My windlass only operates when the engine is going. Does any one know where and how the switching is when the engine is turned started?

I am trying to locate a fault and need to know where the relay is on the engine side of the circuit.

I know where the air switch and relay are up front but there is no power there until the engine is started.

I figure there must be another relay in or around the engine compartment!

This is NOT a fault. The windlass draws so much power, it's been rigged this way to preserve the batteries.

There is probably a small relay behind your cockpit instrument panel. That is where mine is that operates the blower relay.
