Windlass on Legend 43 (1991) Mooring version

Hi All,

I'm the owner of a Legend 43 (1991) Mooring version. There is a windlass installed on, it's a Lewmar but no model and I can't find the serial number. I need to change the gipsy, but without the model name... Does any body have an idea ? I already asked Hunter Marine, and Lewmar...

Hi Pascal, what did Hunter Marine and Lewmar say when you asked them about your situation? Why do you need to replace the gypsy?

Our 1991 P42 has a Maxwell winch, model 300 I think. After hundreds of times anchoring I'm still very pleased with its performance. It has a 90 degree drive mechanism with the gypsy and drum on the same horizontal shaft.

If it were my boat I would take a few close up pics of the various parts; drive motor, gypsy, etc., and send them to both companies for comment. They're in the boat business and should be able to provide a solution. You might also include Maxwell on your distribution list.
