Just purchased a Lewmar pro 1000 Windlass to install on my 87 Hunter Legend 35. It will involve cutting the hatch on my anchor locker. Wondering if anyone has done this or has any ideas??

Oh yes, consult the article. I wouldn't attach the windlass to the hatch...or both the windlass AND the hatch might go for a swim when your hinges fail. Alex installed his windlass in solid fiberglass as you can see from the article pictures.
Did exactly that on my 34 and had to deepen the anchor well to allow for chain drop. Attached pictorial shows the installation. Don't hesitate to ask questions.
