My H310 doesn't have the optional Simpson Lawrence Sprint 500 windlass. I'm planning to install a Sprint 600 which has the same dimensions, except for an additional 1/2 inch of motor depth/hang-down. Does anyone know if the recessed windlass deck under the anchor well lid is solid FRP or BalTek-cored, like the main deck and above-the-waterline hull? Would anyone care to share any experiences/tips re bedding/sealing/etc. in such an installation? Thanks in advance. Al s/v Persephone

On the H340...

The area to mount the windlass in the anchor locker is solid fiberglass with an aluminum backing plate glassed in. I'd guess the H310 has a similar setup. If you remove the cover that hangs down in the v-berth area you should have pretty good access.
