What type and size wind indicator do you recommend for the H23? Thanks

Size 10 probably enough

I have only seen size 10 and 15, and 15 would definitely be too big. There are other makes beside Windex and you might want to check it out.

Either One

Joe, I've got a 15 on my 25.5 and its not too big at all; much easier to see. There's a 23 in the slip beside me and mast height is about the same. Either one would be fine. Dick Vance H-25.5 "Honey Bear"

Windex 10 for me (88 H23 with Z-spar mast)

My only complaint is that it seems to be a little bit light because it shudders when the wind picks up, usually right about the time I decide to put a reef in the main. Maybe it's some kind of warning sign?? Peter

10 is OK....

I have (had) 10 on my H23. Seems OK, but 15 would be easier to see... One thing I just learned this weekend, REMOVE it before trailering.... Apparently, its not designed to take 60 mph wind in the wrong direction! It broke in half, although the little tabs stayed in place... BTW, I've tried the Davis Spar Fly and never even mounted it on the mast. I thought it'd be great because its bigger and cheaper, but it did not work too well in changing wind direction. It has too much moment of inertia and keeps going back and forth.... Windex is much better... Chris S/V Doghouse

Dinghy for 240 works fine

After killing our original Windex on the very firts towing we changed to the dinghy model, screwed on the port side of the mast. It is big enough to se and it is easy to remowe before trailering. Per Albinsson, H240 "AMFI"
