Wind Vane Mounting Plate

Hi, I have an '82 Hunter with a small problem. I'm trying to fix my wind vane, the whole assembly has been bent about 50 degrees from the vertical. It looks like the only thing I have to replace is the bent mounting plate. The plate is approximately 1 inch by about 8 to 10 inches long. It attaches to the top of the mast (I can only guess by viewing from below with a pair of binoculars) at one end and protrudes aft where the wind vane is attached at the other end. I contacted hunter marine, unfortunately they reported that the part and the drawing is no longer available. Does anyone have the dimensions and hole sizes for this mounting plate? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Son

Take the mast down

I'm away from Lady Lillie until later this week, so I can't get you a picture. Our windex has a very simple mount, though. Once you get your hands on it, it won't be hard to replace/fix. Up north at our marina, we take the mast down every year. Takes my wife and me a few hours. The alternative is to go up the mast, or hire a rigger to do it for you. That's not hard if you don't mind the height. David Lady Lillie
