wind speed gauge

Im thinking about adding a wireless wind speed and direction gauge to my 285. The ideal location would be on top of the mast. But what is the second best place? Im open for suggestions. Thanks for your thoughts, Rick

2nd best location....

...is the top of the mast above and forward of the masthead.

Wind Guage...

I have the most wonderful (hand held) wireless wind guage. Cost about $30 from Davis. Just hold it up into the wind and it reads wind speed. No fuss, to mess, to connections....simple. Give this some thought before heading up the mast to connect a complicated device that probably cost a lot....
