Wind instruments versus spider web on mast top

I have a Pacific antenna system plus Windex wind instrument on my Legend 35.5. The propeller regularly stops rolling due to spider activity. It even happens when I have not used must top light for a long time. Any idea what to do to prevent it as I got tired of getting up to the mast top regularly.

I did the Ortho at our slip, worked good. Really wish there was a way to get ride of the spiders it is a continuing problem for my wife and daughter.

I remember the first time when the sun was just right and I looked up at my vane and saw an impressive set of silky pennants streaming behind the antenna. I was impressed with how prolific those creatures were. Now my vane has stopped working, I wonder if that's why. I really hate to poision the little buggers, they seem so happy.
