Wind indicator's goofy

I have a set of Datamarine instruments. The wind indicator behaves strangely at times. The digital speed read out appears correct all the time but the directional arrow sometimes points into the wind (which I think is correct), sometimes in the direction of wind flow (reverse), and sometimes it's just stuck. It often reverses or comes to life during a tack. There is also a distinctive hum coming from the back of the instrument that I don't get from ythe others. Any ideas?

Been there...try this

I had the same symptoms on my 33 with autohelm instruments. Check all of your sender connections (especialy the ground). I had to redo some of mine. No problems since!

Same Problem

I am having the same problem with my datamarine wind indicator. It's always at odds with my wind direction indicator at the top of the mast. I saw Ernie's response re: sender connections. Where are these located ? At the back of the instruments ?Thanks
