Maybe

But you will need to go up the mast and than tie really good a new wire or line to the old wire and pull the old line down and out with a new wire or line to use for a new wire.

Hi Nick

Thanks, I have heard that the old cables might be glued inside a conduit. I was hoping some one else has done it

?????

If the wires do run into conduit I don't think it is glued,I did run some cables for radar and wind machine on my old Hunter back in 2001 and where there was nnot conduit I think maybe a added some silicon but that was wires exposed on the sside of the sail track I think, was a long time ago and running the radar wire was inside the mast and no glue was used.

in my H42 I replaced TV anetena coax last year at same time as I replaced the rigging- there was no conduit- it all ran insiode the mast section- should pull through easily. The big deal is likely to be at the deck step- mine was packed solid with silicone ( packed solid around all wires- I guess to fix water leaks) - that took hours to clean out and only AFTER to had stepped the mast down.
Good luck!
