Winch Turning/Grinding

New sailor upgrading from DS3 to Oday 22. I used a winch in class on a Catalina 22', but that was 2 years ago. Please watch the video I've posted and let me know if I'm doing it wrong or if the winch is faulty.

The behavior when you spun it by hand is correct, but something has jammed and it’s not working properly with the handle. The Barient 10 is a single speed, so the handle should free-wheel in one direction and turn the drum to clockwise. Check the manual at Winch Service Manual for Barient No. 10 - & 10H. A single speed winch is pretty easy to disassemble. You might have a pawl flipped the wrong way or something.
