Winch overrides
Overrides can be cause by a number of factors: poor fairlead position, winch mounted at an improper angle, or even by a dry, stiff, hardened sheet that woun't ride up the winch drum properly. If the winch is mounted properly, and the fairlead is correctly placed, here's what I would do: temporarily replace your jib sheet with a new, clean, flexible line of the proper diameter. My mainsheet would continually override itself, because the old sheet was hard and stiff, and wouldn't ride up the drum properly. A new, clean flexible line has corrected that. Randy
