I am looking for some direction on taking apart the Maxwell winches on my 1985 H31. I am interested if anyone has a diagram of how to reassemble them and what grease to use for lubrication.
The winches are not that complicated. Take apart being careful not to drop any parts overboard. I remove the winch and put it in an old bake pan, clean the parts with a soft cloth and reassemble with a light coat of Lewmar winch grease. The bearings should all be in a cage and they cannot get out.
