Suggest you contact Lewmar or one of their dealers and get the booklet, "How to Service Your Ocean Winch". It has complete step by step instructions (with pictures) for all Lewmar models on how to disassemble, clean, lube and reassemble your winch. It's pretty easy IF you are careful and don't let any of the little parts get away.

What about pre-1992?

The Lewmar manual only covers 1992 and later models, according to their web site. What about earlier models? How much different are they? Is there a separate manual or instructions available anywhere for these? Mine is a 1980 Hunter '27 too.Jon Zaimes"Airwaves"Felton, Delaware
