Winch handle needed

I am looking for a winch handle to fit the stock winches on my late 70s model Mac 25'. This handle has a "female" square shaped opening that would drop over the square "male" fitting on the top of the winch itself. Any ideas for me?

I think a picture of this strange winch and the handle was posted here about 6mo-1yr ago... (search sometimes works, sometimes not so much)

IIRC, on the top of the winch had a round male ' 2 part key' and the handle fit over the key. (handle had a circle (round) end fitting over the key)

again, IIRC, its no longer made and the advise was to have a welder make one up.

(personally, I'd be looking for a deal on ebay for 2 winches)

what year was the boat made? I think the previous thread was on a 74-'76 venture ?

This is one version of the winches used on the 80's Macs.

The last picture is one of a Mac winch that someone was looking for a missing handle. We found the handle for him at Minney's Yacht Surplus, Costa Mesa.

From your description it doesn't sound like either one.

A friend of mine is parting out a 1971 V21 and I think he has that kind of winch and handle. Last time someone asked him about it he wanted to sell both the winch and handle together as a winch without a handle has little market value. But that was 6 mo. ago (see post above) so he may be more motivated to sell now.
