Winch handle for Hunter 23

Hi all, I have an 87' Hunter 23 with a Maxwell 14 winch. I purchased a locking winch handle only to find that the locking mechanism on new handles is at the bottom of the shaft. The Mawell 14 recieving shaft has the groove for the locking tab about half way down in the middle of the shaft. I spoke with a knowladgable marine store and they said they don't make them anymore. Does any one have one they are not using? Wana sell it? Where might I find this elusive beast?

You can always use a non-locking unit.

Try the Lewmar one touch handles that use bearings in the middle vs. square locking devise at the bottom to lock the winch handle in place. I have these and my guests really like them.
