Update on the Batteries
Now about 6 weeks after my initial post, thought I'd report back on the batteries: After they'd been on the automatic charger for much of that six week timeframe, the batteries were reading 12.98 and 12.78 volts first thing this morning.
Then spent about 6 hours working on the boat, and purposely turned off the shorepower (and therefore the charger) and purposely turned on the stereo and and an overhead light (the old fashioned kind -- no LED low draw lights). Also used the batteries to start the engine for the first time this year.
Pleased to report that before buttoning up the boat, and after running the lights and stereo for 6 hours -- and starting the engine -- the batteries read 11.99 and 11.98 volts respectively.
It appears to me that the batteries have, indeed, survived. We'll see what happens as the summer progresses. Just wanted to report back -- thanks to all of you who provided your good opinions and advice.
