Greetings all 26/260/270 Owners. The HOW ship's store has a bimini for the H260 that attaches to the railing on the stern perch seats. Does anybody know if it will fit the older H26 too. I have an older Amerisieam 6 foot bimini and I have never been very happy with it as it blocks the stern perch seats. Before I spend the moolah, I'd like to know if the new one will fit. Stern seats

Mike - How does the Ameriseam bimini block the stern seats? Does it hinder sitting in them at all times or only when the bimini is deployed? A bimini is on the wish list and I'd like to be well educated before making a decision. Thanks, Ron Mehringer s/v Hydro-Therapy

Bimini-Stern Rail seats

We asked the same question. On our 260, the bimini is high enough that you can easily sit in the stern rail seats under the bimini. When it is folded up, it rests on the support bracket out of the way. Best thing we added to our H260.

It sits too low over the seat

Ron, I have the six foot tall Ameriseam version. It attaches to sliding tracks on the coaming. There are two straps that go to eyes installed on the coach roof and two straps that clip in where the rear lifeline eyes are. When raised for sailing, the rear bow is about two inches inside the rail and comes across your lap at about the same height as if you are eating at a table. The rear straps come down under you armpit. Access to the cockpit from the dock is very awkward also. All in all its pretty uncomfortable. We left it off last season, and it still is in the garage this year. I was hoping to use the new 260 style, but it won't fit a 26 according to an e-mail recieved from the HOW store. I guess the only other option is to try some fixed support poles from West Marine. Mike Pajewski H26 "Loon"

Rail mount on a 26

I don't know if I have an Ameriseam, but I do have a rail mount bimini on a H-26 with stern seats. Mine seems to work OK -- just have to remember to raise the boom so it will slip into place. Once we're sailing, the boom just clears it. And you can sit on the stern rail seats.

Pictures of your H26 Bimini

Harvey, Can you take pictures and post them. I have been looking for a way to mount a bimini on a 94' Hunter 26. I saw one on a 97' Hunter when I was looking for a boat but didn't pay much attention at the time how it looked. Do you have a Isomat or Z-spar mast. I think the z-spar boom is a little higher than the Isomat.
