I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
I have a 1990 Catalina 30 tall rig with a bow sprit. When I bought the boat it came with another jib. I never paid much attention to it because it was in a sailbag and it had hanks (I have roller furling). I decided that I was going to sell it so I pulled out of the bag and began to measure it. It didn't take but a few seconds for me to realize the sail was almost brand new. I went ahead and measured it and I quickly decided that I was going to keep the sail and have luff tape put where the hanks are. My question is do I need to cut the sail any? The Luff is 40'9". Will that fit my roller furling without any modification. I did check the foot of the sail and it came out to be a 110% jib. The marking on the bag indicated that it was a lapper for a Hunter 34. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated

Only you can do the measurement

of the luff distance on your roller furling. We don't know how high off the deck your furling drum is, for instance, or how far down from your masthead the furling swivel is located. Use an extra halyard and measure the luff length of your roller furling, or take the roller furled headsail off and measure its luff and compare it to your bagged sail.
