Are parts still available for these heads . I just purchased a Venture 24 with one in it and when I pump the handle water comes out around the pump shaft . I am thinking I need new seals or washers

W-C still makes the Headmate

And yes, parts--including rebuild kits (all the rubber seals, o-rings, gaskets, valves etc)--are still available for it. Go to it on the W-C website here: http://www.wilcoxcrittenden.com/sanitation/manual/head-mate.asp?bid= However, rebuilding it may not solve your problem. The Headmate is an entry level "budget" compact toilet that has an average lifespan of 7-9 years. If yours is older than that, replacing it makes more sense than trying to keep it working...'cuz the hardware is very worn by now too...you could end up spending more for parts within a year or two than the price of a new toilet. The hose I could see in your photo looks like it's definitely seen better days too! I'd replace the whole system if I were you. And you might want to check out the link below...

Then again, ...

...you might just use it! I have a Catalina 36 with the same head. It's been there since the boat was built in 1984, and just keeps working. Just flush it thoroughly. I had the same leak. You probably solve it the same way I did, just tighten the packing nut at the base of the shaft. I tightened mine by hand once, a couple of years ago, and it has been dry ever since. The leak is incoming seawater, so no big deal if it weeps a little. I still have the rebuild kit, which came with the boat 6 years ago. I think it was 10 years old when I got it. No need to throw out a functioning head just because its 6 or 7 years old, unless you're in the business of selling heads. We keep ours clean on the outside with conventional cleaners, on the inside by just flushing well, and we always add 4 oz. of Thetford liquid - the thick blue stuff. We never have a head odor problem, either. (I think Thetford owns WC now). Good luck, jv

West Marine sells the repair kit.

Installed one of those on our 27 a few years back and last year rebuilt it. I wan't to say the kit sold for like 40 some bucks, check the catalog.

There is a black plastic nut that...

the shaft goes through. That has some packing material to prevent water from leaking; tighten it and if your leak stops you are done.
