Widgeon: A few questions

I have a few questions on the widgeon. I've e-mailed O'day but no response yet. My questions are: Is the widgeon recoverable by one person following a capsize? Can it be sailed with main only if it's too windy for both main & jib? Does it have positive flotation? And what size motor is reccomended? (I've had to be towed in twice during lessons when the wind died.) Are there O'day dealers, or do I deal directly with the manufacturer in MA? Thank you.

I owned a widgeon for many years and can answer some of your questions. Yes you can right if you flip but let me tell you I only flipped it once in over ten years of very active sailing. You must stand on the centerboard and pullit over by the main halyard.My boat did have positive flotation in the form of closed cell polyureethane under the seats.I have also sailed it by main alone but is better with the jibI never had a outboard but I have seen Wigeons with a Cruise and Carry type motor on the transom.There is no more factory to the best of my knowledge.CTR
