HTP finally responded, and based on some Q&A they said I may have stray current. Per their instructions, I then touched the multi-meter red lead to the heater's relief valve and black to ground (engine). There's 16.4 mv of dc. Still there with all breakers off, even main 120v. Then disconnected shorepower, no stray current.
Drained the heater, flushed, water is now clear. However, I did get a few spurts of rust colored water when priming the galley faucet after refill. Stainless tank...rust? Is this from the stray current? Water is perfect now so tank is not "rusty", but wonder about the indication.
I'll post a separate question re stray current in heater cause\resolution.
