Why is My Friend going so slow

Have a dock mate has the same OMC as i do he can not get his to push his boat over 2mph we have done everything it will rev up and sounds as the rpm are great is just will not go has a 2 blade prop as i do we each also have a 3 blade prop extra HELP Thanks Ron Thweatt

check the hub

Hey Ron, Not sure but it sounds as if the prop may have a spun hub. Once the rpms start to rise the prop will start to slip. Hard to see sometimes,just a thought.

Could it be

th tranny -- my atomic 4 can push the boat at 6.5 knots without sweating -- there is definitely somehting slipping, or a major dirty bottom, which is unlikely this early ion the season
