Nearly 80k for this?! Its got some expensive electronics. but it just seams crazy someon would pay this much money for a boat dedicated for fishing only. Can someone please tell me what it is I'm missing that can justify this price?

Maybe its like the bumper sticker "Its a jeep thing. You wouldnt understand".

Fishermen probably think the same about us. Why would anyone spend that kind of money to go 6 or 7 mph?

Keep in mind that the motor alone on that boat is close to 25k without controls or gauges etc., trailer another 5k+, and all the other bells and whistles and this is before you even build the hull.. For that type of boat that is not out of the ordinary.

My buddy Mike, best man at my wedding, has a 240k, center console fishing boat that is only 33 feet long... It has two 350 HP Yamaha's on it that puts us on the fishing grounds in short order.. In 18-20 knots of wind and 3-5 foot we can still run at over 20 knots, it is what it was designed to do.. There are lighter and faster center consoles but we leave them in the dust when it gets rough as they are beating themselves to death..

That boat has caught a LOT of Blue Fin Tuna. Last season Mikey paid for all his fuel by fish caught... That thing drinks fuel like John Belushi drank beer so that is a pretty good self supporting power boat hobby IMHO.... More money than I would spend but he enjoys his hobby as much as we do ours..

My brother owns a 30 foot twin screw Mako with 450 HP that he bought used and got a killer deal on so it all depends upon what you want to spend. Aluminum hulls, on the West coast in particular, and in AK & BC, are the "hot commodity". Just like racers pay through the teeth for "hot commodity" racing boats, and ridiculously priced pieces of fabric called sails, its a hobby and their all expensive even cruising boats....

I am sure the guy who owns the Sunfish has just as much fun as we do only he paid $400.00 on Criag's list for it, and laughs at us...

I am certainly not going to judge what a power boater spends when we pay 3k for a few yards of 7.3 oz Dacron...:D or $3.50 per foot for glorified clothes line...

Have you looked at new sailboat prices lately?

Hard to compare that to a 22 foot daysailer, but a Beneteau First 25.7 (25 feet) is not sold in the USA but in England Beneteau gets 50,000 UK pounds for one. Look up the conversion, you'll be shocked. I bet the hunter 27e is close.
