Who manufactured this winch?

Does anyone know who the manufacturer of this 38 year old braking centerboard winch from a 6.8m S2 sailboat? The logo is near the bottom and is a "trident" design of some sort.

Merriman used a trident as their logo. Merriman Winches have been out of production for over 20 years.

Looks like "Merriman" .. they went out of sailboat business back in the mid/late 80's.. "Merriman Yacht Specialties" was their last business name .. Merriman Brothers and Merriman-Holbrook were the earlier companies..
Any parts would probably have to be fabricated..

Maybe keep an eye on Ebay. I picked up a couple Merriman turning blocks there. They seem to be fairly good quality.
