Whitby 27

Hello,I am on the verge of buying a 1977 Whitby 27. It is sometimes refered to as a "Whitby Bianca 27" As much as I like the look and feel of the Whitby 27, I am a bit apprehensive because I have been unable to find any information about the boat. I have heard that there were very few of these boats made, but I have no idea why.I've found lots of information about the Whitby 42, but nothing about the 27. Does anyone have any information about the Whitby 27, or better yet, own one? Is there an existing owner club?Any information is appreciated.Cheers,Jeff Blundell

Was a really fine Canadian Boat Buidling Company that built many designs including the Alberg 30. See the link for Alberg info-you will find it interesting as it talks about Whitby.

Here's a possible lead

Jeff, I have never heard of a Whitby 27, which is odd as Whitbys were built just down the road from TO. There is a broker in Midland who runs ads claiming they specialize in the bigger Whitbys, so they may be a starting point. Often brokers used to work for the builders, or sold their boats when the factory was still in business.Check their site at www.yachtsls.comBTW, CS 27s and C&C 27s are very popular on Lake Ontario, have you checked them out. I have a CS 27.Where are you planning on keeping the boat?Kevin
