Check with your local PHRF dude and see if you are able to have a whisker pole longer then your J measurmeant. If so go with the 2" pole the smaller one though cheaper will work but when your Jib sheet slips or some other cluster muck goes wrong you can VERY easly wrap it around the forstay. I know this from experence. I only say to ask your PHRF dude in case you decide to enter a race and the pole can not be longer then your J you could just buy a Spinnaker pole. But if you don't race or even if you do just mark the pole with a marker when it is at the J measuremeant. Being able to extend it beyond the J Measuremeant will do wonder's for down wind performance wing and wing. West Marine, Boat US,Layline everybody sell's them. Cliff
