Need help and suggestions for attachment to the mast. And also to the clew.
For the clew should I attach the pole to the sheet or to a ring on the clew?

I have a small line with a snap that I attach to the mast pad eye on my inboard end so I don't lose the pole overboard from fumbly fingers. The pin on the outboard end would go into the eye on the clew. Tension pulling inboard from the sheet is usually sufficient to keep it place.

Thats if it has a pin. I'm guessing on a 27 it has jaws both sides. If that is the case, clip it to the sheet, jaw facing down.

For the mast side, you should have a pole ring, or better yet a pole-ring track mounted to the forward part of the mast. Like this.
