Whisker Pole

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 1975 S2 23" sailboat. New to sailing but my wife is experienced but we are having some difficulty figuring out how to attach the whisker pole. It has a hook with a closing hasp on one end and the other has a plastice pin sort of piece about 2 inches long with a round nob on the end and we are not 100% sure how to use it correctly

We got to work the first time out but I am sure we hooked it up incorrectly? Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm, I think we would need a photo to be much help. My Forespar Whisker Pole has sliding pin hooks at both ends. It clips on a U-fitting on the mast. Perhaps your ball end fits a socket like some tiller extensions use.
