:)I am wanting to install a rail mounted grill on my boat and was wondering if a Kuuma grill would be a good choice. Most of the time boats have Magma grills which are round but I like the idea of a rectangular grill. Thanks

There has been a move to the rectangular grills for quite some time. One of the reasons is that they are easier to work with, the round ones are kinda counter-intuitive compared to what you use at home. Plus the round Magmas have a nasty habit of being hard to light when there's any breeze.

We use a Kuuma on our Capri 22. I mount it off the port rail and the Admiral made a cover for it.

I can't say which works better, but I can easily put 1/2 dozen burgers on mine and we've used it for picnics and on the back porch at home to cook kebobs without firing up the big grill.

Here's a picture with ours (covered) on the right and our friends' (uncovered) on the left. 1987 vs 2001 Catalina Capri 22's.

I have a propane Magma, round rail mounted with ceramic coals. Durable and easy to use. Bring a slightly larger cheapie propane/ceramic coal unit for use on the dockbox for larger groups.

No, I haven't had any problems with the Kuuma grill. I'd buy one again.

I also used one of their mounts for my solar panel. I did put another hole in the mount as I wanted 3 points of contact for the solar panel frame.

BTW, the Kuuma has fold-up feet so you don't need a 2nd grill on the dock. :)
