Where's The Best Place To Buy Yanmar Parts

I need to replace a few spare parts for the engine inventory. Specifically a water pump belt and two impellers. Where's the best place tp pick this stuff up?

The engine is a 29 year old Yanmar 3GMF.

Probably this site. The impellers are available here. They are not OEM, but after I ordered an expensive factory replacement and happened to notice it was a Johnson, I won't make that mistake again. I don't know about the belt, but take the old one to a good auto parts store and get a Gates Green Line high quality that will fit.

Not bad advise from Rick D. Yanmar has a policy of dealer territory protection which is strictly enforced. If you want to purchase OEM parts you need to go to the dealer in your area. That can be quite inconvenient depending on location when looking for maintenance items like belts and impellers. Nothing wrong with saving a few bucks either.

Agree with Gunni .... Bayshore!!!! They are the 'master' distributor for Yanmar in the Chesapeake Bay area. They are quite prompt with phone orders, etc.

I've been to Bayshore a few times and have also purchased from Torrensen. I was just wondering if there were any others. Bayshore doesn't list their prices for parts. Torrensen wants $40 for an impeller and $10 for a very small belt plus shipping. I just thought that was a bit high. I'll go to Bayshore next time I'm in Annapolis.

Joe: You can also buy basic Yanmar parts (filters, belts, impellers, etc) at the Washington Marina Co, 1300 Maine Ave, SW at the foot of the 14th St Bridge (202-554-0222). Last time I bought an impeller there is $30, which is probably standard. I also use Gates belts, which are far superior to the OEM Yanmar/Mitsubishi belts. I also think the Casa Rio Marina, not far from where you keep your boat in Shadyside, has a Yanmar Parts dealer, but not sure of the prices.

Macboring is the distributor for the mid Atlantic States not sure how far north but Maryland is included down to Wilmington NC. toll free is 800-622-5364. If you are in VA or NC, ask for the Wilmington location. The folks there are good getting out parts and Tom Amata is a welath of information.

I have gotten parts and service from Bayshore in Annapolis. They always send me the right parts. They also did warrintee work and were great.
